JSMU CHPE Program Duration
The Certificate in Health Professions Education (CHPE) is a six-month programme focusing on developing basic skills in teaching and assessment. This uniquely designed course will follow a blended approach; having both online (synchronous and asynchronous) and on-campus session.
Aims of CHPE
The CHPE programme aims to improve the teaching and assessment practices and processes in health professions institutions. It aspires to work at the practitioner level and form a platform for advancement of standards of Health Professions Education.

CHPE Structure
The certificate programmed is divided into three modules with specific time spans as given in the table below. Each module will consist of workshops plus some independent assignments.

Teaching Sessions
Participants will be invited to attend a teaching session every fortnight on Tuesdays and Thursdays (in case the sessions cannot be held on the specified day, it will then happen on an alternate day) for six months. These sessions will be from 0930 to 1500 hours maximum and may be online or on-campus. IME-JSMU plans to hold the course from January to June, however the dates may have to be revised depending on the COVID situation and the government directives. The latter will depend on the policy of the University at that time.

The participants should possess any one of the following or equivalent qualification registered with the respective ational regulatory/accrediting body to get enrolled (minimum 16 years of education from HEC recognized university).
- MBBS/MD ((Registered with PMDC/PMC)
- BDS (Registered with PMDC/ PMC)
- B.Sc Nursing- 4 Years (Registered with PNC)
- B.Sc Paramedics- 4 Years
- Pharm D/Equivalent (Registered with Pharmacy Council)
- BS Physiotherapy/Equivalent
- Bachelors in any of the Allied Health fields
