Eligibility Criteria For NEC Scholarship
It is clear from the title of the Scholarship that it is for students from the North-Eastern States only. We will review some details regarding the Scholarship.
- Permanent Resident Students from North-Eastern States that cover Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and the Tripura States are eligible for the scholarship.
- Students are required to be enrolled in Higher Education classes like diploma or degree, postgraduate, MPhil or Ph.D. Programmes.
- Candidates must pass the Exam that is considered to be Pervious Eligible to be eligible for the Course, with a minimum of 60 percent marks.
- The Annual Family Income should be lower than the amount of Rs. 8lakh
Educational Qualification
The applicant must meet the eligibility requirements listed below in the last qualifying exam to be eligible for a scholarship
- Diploma
Qualifications: HSLC/HSSLC/Secondary School Senior Secondary/Leaving Certificate exam passed by an approved State/Central Board with a minimum of 60% marks overall.
- Degree
Exams for qualifying The HSSLC/Senior Secondary Leaving Certificate examination from an approved State/Central Board with a minimum of 60% marks overall.
- Post Graduate
Qualifying examination: Degree level examination in any discipline (BA/BSc/BE/B Tech/MBBS/LLB/BCA/BBA etc. from any recognized Institute or University with a minimum of 60% marks.
- M.Phil./Ph.D
Qualifications for the exam Qualification: PG degree or equivalent from any recognized university with at least 60% marks aggregated.
NEC Merit Scholarship Amount
The amount of the scholarship in the program is:
- Diploma: 20,000/-p.a.
- Degree: 22,000/- p.a.
- Postgraduate: 25,000/- p.a.
- M. Phil./Ph D: 30,000/- p.a.
Documents Required:
The applicant should have the following documents in order to apply for the scholarship:
- Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) is issued by Dy. Commissioner /Addl. Dy. Commissioners and Sub-divisional Officers of civil subdivisions within the NE States; except Sikkim where a Certificate of Identification (COI) is issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the Govt. of Sikkim to the permanent residents of Sikkim. Any other authority is not valid. (Mandatory)
- The Income Certificate is from the Competent Authority (Mandatory)
- The Bank Account Pass Book : The bank account must be held in the name of the person applying (Optional)
- Specifics of the qualifying exam (Mandatory)
- Synopsis must be signed by the project guide/ Director (Research) or any other official appointed by the Institute/University instances of M.Phil/Ph.D. applicants (Mandatory).
- Other documents may be required according to NSP guidelines.
How to Apply Online For NEC Scholarship 2024?
Students who are eligible to be considered for the Scholarship are able to apply online via the National Scholarship Portal and UMANG Mobile Application. Students should follow the steps to fill out the NEC Scholarship Application Form.
